Sweet looking Escher! I have a Yellow Green and a Dark Blue. I use them just with water because I am coming off of a Coticule with just water. If I were to go from a Coticule with light slurry to an Escher, then I would start off with the Escher with a light slurry and work my way to plain water.

My Fav Escher is a 'Barbers Gem'. Blue-Green two-toned and 5 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches. I use it only with water as a final finisher or to refresh a blade. Usually 20-40 laps. In fact it is probably the one stone I would never part with (including my JNAT's).

Thanked: 1Hello,
I have one that is the same size as yours but yellow/green. This is how I use mine:1. generate a good amount of slurry, 2.watch to see if the slurry is coming fully over the top of blade all along the edge, 3. watch to see that no slurry is left in the wake of each stroke,4. add small amounts of water and rub the stone with slurry stone if necessary to maintain slurry,5.Wait for resistance to build, that is you should feel more resistance(easier to detect if stroke is slow),6. Keep going until resistance subsides, 7. Rinse stone but not blade do 3-5 laps. I don't really count laps at the end or anytime really but this should work.
Good luck
