For me the Norton 1K for the bevel/repair then the Norton 4K or Nagura Botan then either the Norton 8K or Coticule then the Naniwa 12K and then either my Escher or Suehiro 20K.

King 1k/6k followed by either my phig or my jnat. Then pasted strop if I feel the edge is lacking.

Naniwa/Norton 1k, Norton 4/8, Naniwa 12k, Escher.
A few coti/natural hones which work better with old stuff. Sometimes!Last edited by sharptonn; 07-10-2014 at 02:49 AM.

I use what I have. 1k King, 6k King, 8k Norton red 8 inch DMT to flatten. A TM 4 sided paddle strop with 3, 1, and 0.5 u diamonds. TM Latigo and linen 2.5 inch barber end strop. I would not call this combo best but it works for me.

Chosera 1k for the bevel set
Shapton 1,2,4,8,16
Either a Zulu or Dark Blue Escher for finishing.
Only thing that changes is the finisher depending on my mood of the day. Seriously considering ditching all the shaptons and getting a chosera 5 and 10 instead to simplify things. I feel like a chosera 1,5,10 followed with a finisher would be just fine Instead of all the shaptons in the mix.
