Hello to All
Synthetic
Naniwa SuperStones (SS) 1k, 3k, 8k, 12k
Natural
La Verte or La Veinette coticules, followed by finish on Naniwa SS 12k. (For me, the 12k SS really 'improves' the edge from the coticules).
(I have started to use a Charnley Forest to finish from the coticules, but have not used it enough to form an valid opinion)
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ

Thanked: 30With regard to my honing set up - I don't have a clear favourite one...
OK, my Chosera 1K always comes first (unless there's very heavy work to be done, then I use a 400 Chosera as well).
Then I either stay synthetic with Chosera 5K and Super Stone 12K (maybe Suehiro 20K as well) or I use one of my coticules followed by a thuringian.
My JNats (Nakayama Maruka, Nakayama Iromono, Oozuku) haven't been used for quite a while... And I can't even say why...
Cheers

Thanked: 171For me it's:
Naniwa 1k
Naniwa 5k
Naniwa 8k
Naniwa 12k
Gokumyo 20k
As the Gokumyo arrived fairly recently, I haven't really decided whether I still need any CrOx afterwards...Last edited by beluga; 07-20-2014 at 12:50 PM.

Thanked: 391 or 3k synthetic stone to bevel set. The 1k is made by Norton, unsure of the manufacturer of the 3k.
12K PHIG/Chinese natural/CNAT/etc... with super-heavy Coticule slurry, diluted gradually until it's all gone and then just water to finish.
