    As far as I know it comes as is and can only be had from a couple places in the world.

    Keep in mind, the base is not attached. Its just a rubber platform to put it on and hold it still.

    I'm not sure what you mean here.
    Mine is glued, and glued good, to the base. After more than 2 years of use I have never seen it loosen from the base even the slightest.

    Mine came with the two pieces separate, not glued together.

    From what Ive read (don't quote me on this) we are now on the 3rd generation Gokumyo which comes as separate pieces. Birnando I believe the one you have is 2nd generation which as you say is glued.

    Gokumyo. : Tools from Japan, Japanese woodworking tools direct from Japan.

    Stone plus separate rubber base plus cleaning stone. Excellent reliable vendor.

    The 20 k I have came with the base but it's not attached to the stone.. No us dealers
