Had some "Me Time" today so I decided to give a W&B 7/8ths the full monty..

Set the bevel on the Chosera 1k. Then went through the Nagura progression with no dilutions apart from the Tomo and I also did some of that mm up n down business for a few mins each side.

Stropped on linen and 50 cordovan strokes.

It passes all sorts of tests to the highest level..

    Cheap but good enough.

    Another new production Hart

I just started this one with 2 layers of tape and the Chosera 5k then to the 10 k and to a Nakayama finisher using a super fine Mejiro

    Simplicity and a smooth shave

Got up to get a cup o Joe and found these hanging in the back yard hehehe

I found time tonight to hone up 2 blades.
They didn't need honing but my experiments must continue

Firstly my Spartacus. 1k then Nagura progression finished with a soft Tomo and some new secret techniques (shh)
Really pleased with this and I cant wait to test shave it..

The second, my brothers Dovo . You can tell its his by all the staining .. This one I killed the perfectly good edge and did the old 1/5/10k chosera progression.
Then I went to the Escher holding it half in my hand like that guy on you tube and gave it 30 super light strokes with water...

    Job done..

Thursdays razor a Geo. Wostenholm & Sons "pipe razor in super condition took a superb edge I'm sure the owner will very much enjoy this razor.

Here is a co workers modern production Hart 7/8 razor I honed up last night! It had a V shape to the blades edge not a smile, where 1" of the toe of the blade on one side did not meet the stone with one layer of tape. It looked like from the factory the blade in order to pass the test had the spine lifted off the stone in order to make contact with the stone. It had a large secondary bevel 1" off the toe and it had several chips in it....from the factory. So I moved up to two pieces then three pieces to see if the blade with a rolling X stroke would now make contact with the stone which it did! I set the bevel, worked my way up the progression and finished on my Nakayama Asagi, w/slurry finish.
