I was playing with the nakayama asagi, trying to finish on different slurries etc. These two razors were done on very light, watered down slurry. The black frontier razor took an exceptional edge. Very sharp and comfortable. BBS with no irritation. The friodur 72V on the other hand ended up being harsh so I tamed it on the BG Escher but the frontier was still better.

The "Snap" failed the shave test so back to the Coti with it next week. BTW, the Coti is on loan from Outback. What a guy! Loaned me a few hones to play with so I can see what I like and what I don't want to buy. Owe you a few Beers Mike!

Hone of the day haven't put these two on the hones for a very long time, two favourites of mine my Iwasaki & HoshiTonbo.

Blew the dust off 2 of my 3 remaining hones. 10" Pike Washita in original box and a nice Norton 8" hard Arkansas.
Tried a gold dollar that needed a slight ding taken out. Need to grind the rust off my honing skills. It has been too long. Popping arm hairs above skin level. Proof is in the shave.
Update: while not as laser keen as I'm used to the edge wasn't uncomfortably pulling and left no irritation. Could use some more time on the hard ark and a very thorough stropping.
