Kapton tape came in so I put the grelot on kiita for few strokes on slurry then water to give it nice edge. I not a fan of using tape but I definitely prefer this than electrical tape so I will use it on my nice razors. It also keeps the bevel close to the same so that is nice. From what I have heard it last longer than electrical tape so I will have to try that out later, maybe electrical tape with this on top for my wedge.

Kapton is good stuff. I use the thinnest version when I use tape. It is more wear resistant than electrical tape. And you can certainly put it on top of electrical tape.

    Cheers, Steve

As I hone many razors on a weekly basis when they lineup I give the $20 Gold Dollar the same treatment as $1000 Dollar razor, in fact, If the truth be told they take a wicked edge at least all the ones that come my way do.

Bevel restored and set with 1000 Chosera, two layers tape.
Then a progression of a fast cutting Thurigan with slurry diluted to clear water, then a BG Escher slurry- water, topped off with 30 with water, on a hard Dark blue Thurigan.
    20-30 laps Cr/Ox, 60 Latigo, 60 Bridle, 60 Roo.

Test shave...very keen, but very smooth.
    No irritation, no complaints.
