    Just honed up 3 blades.
    Shapton's up to 16k then B/G Escher.

A Bengal which sings whilst being stropped . I'm really starting to appreciate full & extra full hollows.

A Kropp 7/8ths which is just a pain in the back side to be honest

A Hart (replica) . I took a chip out of it and its going crazy on the HHT but the Harts really need a shave test to be sure.

Did these three this eve. The Genco (Rt.) was changed to a Zulu Edge from a PHIG. Just for giggles. The Griffon (M) was finished on the PHIG and the Fjaril (Lt.) was finished on the 20K. They all just needed a thouch up. No serious honing needed.

Had a meet with someone visiting town to show him the basics of honing and get his razor shave ready. Honed his razor on chosera 1k naniwa ss 3, 5, 8, 12 and Gok 20k. Showed him honing pressures and stria with a 60x loupe as I went through the stones. Hopefully he's learnt enough to get along on his own.
My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed

Only the one TI in today, I have a few more coming in tomorrow including a nice pair of Mappin & Webb razors.

I just had a Sunday honing session .

I have this Shoubudani which is very hard and im sure that Nagura slurries made on this stone are a 99.9% Nagura stone in composition.
So I made DMT slurries and then made the Nagura slurries within them. Making the compositions more like 70% Shobu and 30% Naguras.

The final slurry I used just a Tomo.

The edge looks beautiful and HHT test are as good as they can be.

I'm saying nothing until I've shaved with it though. I have learnt not to get my hopes up
    W&B by the way.

    My second session for today.
My newly restored W&B 9/8ths which I will show off when I get some daylight.

I didn't want to stop honing this , it was really special . Rolling X's all the way, full progression.

The bevel was set on the 1k. No way I was putting this baby near a diamond plate . It was tense because you never know how the bevel will form until you get going.
The bevel is perfect , thin and consistent on both sides.

4 for honing today, including a very special pair of Mappin & Webb razors the pair have never been honed or used with Ivory scales, also an experimentation day for me, first time using CBN 0.10 which they say is the equivilent to about 160000 grit, treated a Tony Miller Horsehide yesterday with about 10 sprays spread it around a little trying to get an even covering then left to dry, well after finishing with my normal progression on the 20K I gave the Tony Miller about 30 light strokes, then 50 suede and finally 50 Kanayama cordovan shell, well I will shave with one of the razors tomorrow but on saying that I'm more than sure I've found a little extra level of sharpness, I will also ask the owner of the Mappin & Webb to give me his opinion as I have honed many razors for him in the past.

Those Mappin Webb razors are truly gorgeous.
I was outside one of their shops the other day, bottom of Old Bond Street.
No razors though, just philippe patek watches in the window.
