Towika 523 honed on a stone that works well enough and a great strop (though not sure about those stamps?).

Interesting....That is what the back side of my pigskin/boarhide strops look like....The fronts are quite smooth.

You Sir have the nicest coticules. I will admit that when I see that you posted here I always get excited about seeing the next one

THANK YOU! I went a little overboard buying them but no regrets.

I've had this razor for 2 or 3 months. Up until now I was hesitant to touch it, I didn't want to cause more harm than good to a classic.

Today I decided to give it a shot. It honed up fairly easily barring one small issue. I noticed it seemed to be slightly warped. Laying flat on the stone on one side the heel wasn't making contact. The old bevel was a bit uneven on this side as well toward the toe.

When I pushed the heel forward on the stone the whole blade started making contact and formed a quick bevel. It popped arm hairs easier than the other razors I have honed, and as well as my Ralf Aust which was professionally honed.

It passed the shave test with flying colors! I've been working overtime for the last month and haven't had time to shave with a straight, but I didn't get bitten once. It was a nice, efficient shave.

Testing my new La veinette on my trusty Cougar 72.
Even though the stone looks tiny (100x30 mm) I didn't face any problems and ended up with what looks like a great edge, shave test is tomorrow!

I was going to rescale and lightly restore this Wade & Butcher 9/8, but after seeing the razor I'm having to rethink my first idea it's totally original in superb condition, I'm going to sit on my first thoughts for a while it's still a maybe in flecked horn and new Bullseye washers?
