As I mentioned in another thread, a few months back I obtained a few lots of razors from eBay with the idea of learning to restore them. Overtime got in the way and it isn't going anywhere soon, but I at least wanted to hone the ones that didn't need any other attention.

This is an Elliott Feather Weight.

The scales are rough but usable. No rust on the blade...as far as I'm concerned this one is ready to go back into a shaving rotation.

It honed quickly. It felt like the heel/toe areas wanted a bit more attention but came along nicely.

A few oldies headed to the Norton 4/8. I worked a looooong time on the French frameback clearing chips and setting the bevel. Some HARD steel!

    I love those framebacks.

One of these days I'm going to get a 7 day set of them and do all of my stropping once a week.

This one is pretty cool, Sonny. Has a Damascus pattern on the blade, A Le Collier a Nogent No 10 Le Royal Razor. Sold by Curley Bros of NY who began in the 1880's.
Plenty old, judging by the horn scales, collarless silver peens, and crazy original coffin.

I think "how much?" is the only appropriate response to that.

User grade Wade butcher wedge on the go to coticule.
(clean bevel just some water stains here and there)

Spent the last month honing only on Shapton's finishing with B/G Esher.

To-day's pair are some really old ones with little or no discernible hone wear sporting tiny bevels.
A Pitchford wedge with original pressed leather scales and a Henckels #12 made and stamped for John Holler of NYC, freshly pinned into some picbone.
Should be a breeze to begin with the Chosera a bit and ultimately wind-up on the BG Escher after the progression. (I hope! )

Well...It weren't so easy. The bevels got wider!
The Holler had a really bad edge and the Pitchford was one I had honed a long time ago and forgot to revisit. Magnification may have led me to expect more work!

A pile on the 1k Chosera. Pretty certain everything is evened-up.
The Pitchford wanted to back-up all the way. Lots of light stuff.
    Even stropping between hones....
They have to be good after all this?

Got these on the rocks tonight. Had to thin out the "Needs Honed Cup'. It still has 4 in it but I'm closer. 2 of these just needed to be touched up. The others went from 1K to finish stone. I used a Trans Arkie on 2 of them, the Zulu on 1 and 20K on the other 3.
