Not so much hone of the day as projects of the passed week. All were run on Norton 1k, 4k, and 8k with different finishers for each blade.

    Left to right:

Dovo on Chinese hone of indeterminate grit. Slurry worked up with stone that came with the hone, presumably same material as hone. 100 strokes heavy slurry, 100 strokes medium slurry, 100 with water, and for kicks and grins a final 100 with Mama Bear's Aged Spice shave soap whipped into a thick lather for a very light polish. Will probably run 10 strokes on CrOx, then strop 25 passes on linen, 50 on leather. Looking forward to shaving with this.

Germania Cutlery Works Oxford Razor finished on Franz Swaty B. Hone. 10 strokes water, another 10 with shave lather. 10 rounds CrOx, 25 linen, 50 leather. It tugged a little, so I brought the B. hone in and did a few more laps with shave lather. Did a little back and forth from the hone to the face until it was shaving with no tugging. Then back to the strop. Smooth shaving afterward. New found respect for the usefulness of a B. hone, they will reside in my cabinet with the other shaving supplies.

Finally the Morley & Sons Clover Stamp that I refurbished earlier this week finished on an American Hone Co. B. hone. Very similar process to what I used with the Swaty. Only difference is I did a few strokes on the back (green) side (10 water, 10 shave lather) to see if there was any difference between the 2. I think the orange face is ever so slightly finer, but this is just guessing based on what I see under a 60x loupe. Have yet to feel frisky enough to shave off the green side. 10 laps CrOx, 25 linen, 50 leather. It also tugged a bit when I first put blade to beard, so there was some back and forth until the tugging stopped. I wasn't bright enough to re-strop this one before finishing the shave. Close shave, but as you can imagine much razor burn. Will strop before next use lol.

Obviously there are still some kinks to work out of the system, but so far things are coming together nicely.

Hard to pick out one hone of the day as all three contributed equally.

These are bench stones for swords and they work quite well on Sheffield razor steel too.
Bevel set near wedge on Amakusa stone. Circles and back and forth passes.

    Tsushima sea stone, half-moon passes.

Finish w/ x passes on Oozuku Sunashi.

The Ducks are new to the rotation so I wanted to try the steel on a few stones to see which they liked best.
All 5 seemingly took sweet edges so the proof will be in the shaves.
    Cheers gents.

    Test results are in.

3 Revisors 6/8th , numbers 2&3 are straight out of the box. factory edges.
Test 1 was to use Revisor and jnats hone and nagura only
Test 2 was to use just naguras on a Arkansas White.
Test 3 was naguras only on marble only.

Raising a slurry on Ark and marble was impossible . Hones are too hard. Used DMT 1200 to make slurry and drip onto base stones.

So The rules kill factory edge, 3 different base hones, can nagura work on there own. YES.
First run, I didnt set bevels just killed factory edges. Huge difference in images. These will be shown next.

What I didnt do was set a proper bevel for Revisor 2&3 . Bevel set with Chosera 1K jointed edges Chosera 5K to (1)Arkansas White (2) Marble from Tile Co. gift piece had been cut they were throwing it away.

Now I did bevel set as stated and post 5K went to base stone WHITE ARK Pics as follows

White Marble after bevel set. Hard stone no slurry made on hone DMT 1200 only.

Pictures say it all. Harder the stone, more striations at the end.
Edge is the best on the marble. Edge and comfort are not the same.
Marble the harshest of the three, Not bad.
Most comfortable shave jnat all the way.
Ark White and naguras was just a good a jnat with naguras.
    Pictures tell the truth.
Honing was done in 45 minutes bevel to finish for all razors.
Honing without music sucks. Music and 3 albums made for a great afternoon.
I did save the slurry,The system of jnat an naguras from jnats felt the best to the feel.
The other set up works, felt like I was McGivering / Frankenstein. it worked. Not as soft.
Lastly I will try a Coticule with only naguras and report. I will be back when I have hair growth.
The TPT felt the same, hair popping the same,
