Nice razor and nice hone, Mark. I'm jealous of both. How did it compare to the Welsh Slate?
I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!

Thanked: 1081Thank you. No comparison! The slate was a cheap, no frills starter natural. I got a nice enough edge from it, the grit rating AJ the seller gives is a little silly but it does work, although not particularly smooth. As a budget natural id recommend the slate but its not in the same league as the kiita which I'm still learning the ropes.

Lookin good, love the satin, hazy finish. This batch just in! Bevel set on 1K Chosera and a varied combination of natural progression, no tape on spines. The pics are only of final finishers, so as not to take up too much space. Enjoy!
Y/G Thuri on Vichy French frameback
Each blade gets different treatment. Each one has different qualities, more French steel
Steels and temper respond to different elements. Visual observation is paramount at this stage.
Some steel can not be stressed as far and still perform adequately.
A successful conclusion, shave test is positive.

After 4 razors, the green hone is as-advertised. Tiny chips out of the edge and popping hairs in what seems to be 1/4 of the time of the other 1k's.
Maybe honing won't suck so much now!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.
