I am going to reach out to Nate Zowanda, he is coming like to see his blades. Joe Edison caught my eye. Anything you want me to bring for hones? Play with a Nakayama ?? Bring something that is just bevel set. Call it since we have the shop to ourselves. Oh I was thinking about bringing a Duck with a round tip for you.
Your only as good as your last hone job.

Got the D.H. Lory 'Gibraltor' honed up this evening.
I had only one goal tonight and that was to get a bevel that would cut hairs. I got into a bad habit of just using a TPT to check the bevel because i was running out of hair on my arms. Well i recently discovered my thighs are covered with hair and usually unseen by the world.
So i spent a little extra time on this one and got a nice thin hair poppin bevel off the 1K with one layer of tape. Took it up to 12k as per my usual procedure.
I got a good shave from it, but the point got me a few times.
Heres to razors

When your wife/girlfriend refers to you as Patches, you might be a honer.
If people stare at your non dominant arm because its hairless, you might be a honer.
If you think nothing of testing straights on your belly and or underarm hair you might be a honer.
If you have permanent micro slices/ a thick linear callus on your opposite hand your might be a honer.
When you take a nail file to your callus to get feeling back into your TPT spot you might be a honer.Your only as good as your last hone job.

Thanked: 13245Kamisori Edge Repair
The Before
Some of the chips in the edge
Oooooooooo the heel
Used the DMT 525 to remove the bad steel at about a 30° angle then switched to the Chosera 1k to pull everything back into line with 1 layer of tape
Once every thing was even and clean I went back to Ratios of 10:1 on the 1k
Chosera 5k and I was at 7:1
Chosera 10k at 5:1
Switched to the Nakayama at 3:1 using the Ole' Yeller Nagura
Finally a sweet hazy bevel and an even shaving edge
Love honing me some Kamisori

A couple from the work bench tonite. A Geo.Wostenholm & Son, Conqueror. And Garantie 25, from Solengin.
Removing chips and setting the bevels with 1000 chosera, and progressing up 5,8, and 12000 Naniwas. And finishing on a slurried-water blue/ green Thurigan. One for tomorrow, the other for Sunday's shave.
