Pretty simple really same as it has always been "It doesn't matter" I actually did a vid after listening to the "Touch Up" debate some time back and showed just how much "It doesn't matter" ...
The "Geometry of the Spine and Edge" wearing together was proved to be a myth after actual testing so "It doesn't matter" either

One simple fact remains... After Tens of Thousands of razors that have crossed my hones I have NEVER had to fix a razor because somebody "Used Tape" I have fixed quite a few from people that haven't

One layer of tape is a moot point...

Nope, I never understood the theory of removing the tape, after the bevel set.

Just leave the tape on and keep the same bevel all the way through.

There is no benefit of removing the tape for the final hones, that I can see.

I tape, and I'm not ashamed! I wonder how many pages this latest tape/no-tape thread will go...

What about on a pasted strop or with diamond spray? Tape then?
