Just send it over here, and I'll put it on the microtome hone for you. Of course, I WILL shave with it before I return it to you for sushi making.

OR this microtome blade with handle.....HAD to have it!
No concerns using a machete that used to chop bodies to bits for something you're going to put in your mouth?

I'm getting chills here thinking about it....

I think that is the thrilling part, how many different kinds of dead things can this piece of equipment cut up in it's life time? It starting with people and then there is deer moose elk many kinds of fish as well as the usual domestic stuff. The list could go on and on and not many can say that their kitchen knife started it's life dismembering people and not for diabolical reasons.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

It's so funny as I am always showing people how to carve a brisket. As they comment on the huge knife, I show them what's scratched into the handle!

Your asking a guy that serves road kill at his backyard barbecues

OH and the razor looks great Magpie. I got one sittin' here for a couple of years is etched "Native American" and the frustration factor has kept me from doing anything with it. I do sleep well at night though. :<0)

I think I may contribute to this thread when my noobie azzz tries to hone up that rock hard steel on that Iwasaki razor....seems like really, really hard steel. Kind of shocked how heavy that razor is for a 6/8.

The little rust came off the pivot pin area easy peasy with a Feather SE blade, and it's ready to go after some light sanding tonight...anyone recommend Valium prior to honing?
