Thanked: 3795That was exactly the reason why I got in a back and forth with someone in the comments section below the video...
HIM
Nice video for a beginner or anyone to watch.
Sad, how you freaks who get off on the comments section leave such negative BLEEP.
Don't like it ? Change the channel, freaks, your negative comments do absolutely nothing but prove you're an BLEEP.
ME
Actually, the negative comments do more than that. They at least warn people NOT to hone the way this guy is doing it. He ground away DECADES of life from that razor with a single honing. If you know anything about razor honing, then you should understand how destructive his video is for any beginner to watch. If you don't know about razor honing, then you have no business claiming that it is a nice video for a beginner to watch.
HIM

You just proved my point, again, arrogant jerk.
ME
And you are being ignorant. That video is not good for any beginner to watch and you would know that if you ever had honed or stropped a razor.
HIM
Give it a rest, BLEEP.
ME
Simple question for you...
Have you ever honed or stropped a straight razor and then shaved with it?
In other words, do you have any basis whatsoever for claiming that this is a good video for beginners?
HIM
Simple reply, yes I have.
Now just shut the BLEEP up, BLEEP.
ME
No, because I have to assume that you are lying or are incredibly ignorant. What happens to the edge of a straight razor when it is stropped with the spine lifted off of the leather as he did?
Also, what happens to your face when you shave with an edge that still has visible chips in it as his did?

Thanked: 3225Valliant effort but unfortunately with those types of people you might as well wee into the wind for all the good it will do.

He said his dad gave him the stone. I'd be willing to bet that his dad has a beard too. But some people just can't be helped. And remember kids don't try what you've seen on that video at home. Because he is what you could call a trained idiot.

Reading the comments on the Guy Stuff honing video led me to Utopian's channel which I did find informative. I subscribed to RealRazors tonight and look forward to watching all of the videos.

They're clear and detailed, Utopian, which is better than slick and catchphrasey. Some of the arm chair, 'tube phonies might not get your geometry references, though. What's an airplane got to do with a bevel?

I made it through the first one and didn't fast forward although I used the boys room and you were still on the same stone. But am going to quit for now so I fall asleep in my bed not this chair!
