Just a follow up to my previous post about the frowning Dovo.

Following Glen’s process, I removed the frown and added a slight smile while resetting the bevel using a coarse DMT.

Then I honed using a 1K - 4K - 8K progression and finished on a coticule.

The result was a very pleasant BBS shave with the razor. The problem was certainly not a result of the quality of the steel or the geometry of the razor.

It is really unfortunate that Dovo lets quite good razors leave their factory with edges damaged by whatever their sharpening process is. That is compounded by their statement that the warrantee expires when the owner tries to fix the problem they created.
