I got out my modern Dovo Bismark, one of two plain blade razors that were sold by yes, Jarrod as the Dovo Pallisander for the pallisander wood scales. It was a fantastic idea, if you got a good one. One of mine is good and one has the hollow overground (frownie) but only on one side. The good one I re-scaled in donor scales from a trashed Wostenholm razor, thin, probably ivory celluloid scales. The razor only weighs 49g and handles like a MK 32, and shaves almost as well. Replacing the surfboard scales on any modern German razor with proper ones is a huge improvement. So let’s not forget that Dovo can make a great razor, if they want to. If only they made them all like this they wouldn’t be in trouble. I wish them the best.

Thanked: 0This video perfectly explained why my razor's edge warped to the side. I can clearly see that the center part of the razor touching the hone much more than the tips. So if that happened to both sides evenly or more or less the same, a frown would be resulted. If one side much more than the other, a warped edge.
If I saw this earlier, I would have walked away from Dovo.

In general modern factory edges ain't too good. It's a well known fact Dovo doesn't do too good a job on their honing.
