At most, I have a RadioShack microscope that I just use to look for microchipping when I hone. Nothing as sophisticated as what you need.

Not at all. It just feels like an edge off 0.5 diamond, in my opinion at least.

Thanx guys ! It 's interesting that in spite of all razors being finished the same way ie on pastes the essence of each stone was discernible , well, a couple of 'em anyway

Would be great to know if half a dozen shaves in there was any perceived "equalisation" of edges or if they still feel slightly different.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

That Shapton 30k would probably give a killer edge on Ducks, TI's and any of the harder steel blades. Not really overly aggressive IMO, just like a diamond pasted edge.

I wonder what would happen if you gave the edge off the Shapton 30k a few licks on or coticule or escher, Glen?
I've got a Duck that went through that Shapton progression from Glen, and it was very very nice.

This was highly entertaining. Would love to see another with an escher and a Japanese finisher and replace the pastes with just linen and strop.

    Thank you Glen and Ray.
