I am guessing #2 since it appears to be the smoothest. However, I can to a high degree of scientific certainty that I really don't know.

You guys are funny! I'll vote number 2 because it looks exactly like the edge I produce on an 8K Norton.

Numbers 1 and 3 look just like the edges I produce on a brick that is stuck in the ground in the backyard. I'm not sure how it shaves though.

I would say edge #2 for the same reason as Jimmy. It looks like a Y/G Escher edge and it also looks a bit like the edges that I get from my J-Nat, so for that reason I'd pick that one.

I say 3 shaves best. 1 looks like a wire edge. 2 looks like the bevel might need to be reset. 3 looks like the bevel has been set, and the edge is visible.

Agreed. I meant in terms of appearance. In terms of shave, they all give me a very very excellent shave (more or less)

Assuming yes, the scratches are much shallower on #2.
As Dylan mentioned, that doesn't necessarily make it the best shaver.
Angle, lighting, everything is the same (as much as I can control).

    Oz,
That's exactly what surprised me too . I really got great shaves from all 3, but the bevels/edges look vastly different, making me believe in what you said above: "bevel cosmetic is secondary" and it is ultimately the shave that counts...even though I knew this as fact, this provides visual proof about that truth.

The proof of the edge is in the shaving. Presuming that lighting is the same for all 3 #2 looks to be the most comfortable edge.

    Robert,

I don't know how to hone, but having said that, I voted #2 because it looks smoother, so maybe it would feel smoother on the face. Don't know how long you're planning to let the voting run, but I hope you'll tell us at some point what you thought the best edge was based on the results of the shaves.

Hmmmmm, I wonder though; If #1 was truly a wire edge, I would get a very uncomfortable shave (fragile edge and all), but it was a very smooth transaction.

    Thanks Brook,
As I eluded to earlier, I did shave after I took the shots (well, on different days of course) and all 3 gave me great shaves. I picked up very subtle differences but nothing worth writing home about.
