i have the puck and it works wonderfully.
I took an old ax i had and went over it with a file first, then a couple of swirls of the puck on each side and it worked like a dream. The puck is great for touch ups and you can use it for a long time before you have to take a file to the head.

Thanked: 2284After reading through this thread and seeing all the great axes, I decided I would keep my eye out for a nice vintage axe or axe head at the antique stores. My Wife and I do a lot of camping and I never have a proper axe or hatchet to drive stakes or split fire wood, so a good axe needs to be in the camping inventory.
Well, I found this yesterday for a very good price and snagged it up pretty quick. Its a Genuine Norland axe with the Tomahawk style head. Also known as the Hudson bay pattern head. It has a 25" Hickory handle that's in good shape. Can't wait to use it this camping season. it should make things a little easier this year.

Thanked: 2284Those are beauties Mike! A matching set!! It's awesome you made the handle from scratch too. A lot of work, but I bet you were smiling when you had it done. A great job you did, I would have never of guessed.
