Hello from Northern Ireland
Hi guys, first post on the forum.
I'm pretty new to straight razor shaving. I bought a blue beards revenge shavette style razor as a cheap introduction to see if I liked it. I use feather DE blades in it, snapped in half. It gives a good shave though I'm still working on my technique.
I decided to buy a cut throat razor and since I don't have a lot of money I decided to go for an old one and refurb it.
While having a few beers and browsing EBay I saw one which I picked up for very little.
I've got some pics but not sure how to upload them on this. Not sure of the make, it says "Dispatch" on the blade.
It's in good shape just needs a clean up and probably honed.
Should I try and hone myself or get it done professionally first?

Thanked: 983G'day from Eastern Australia Kev. Posting pic's is easy enough. Just have a look at the icons at the top of any new post you start. The third one in from the right, a little square picture frame looking tree thingummy. Click on that and click on from my computer find the folder file you want find the image you want click on open and then on upload. Post new post and you're all done.
As to the razor, get a Pro to do it for you first time, or at least someone who actually knows what they are doing. Check out to see if any members are in your part of the world...Or pay for the fare and I'll bring my hones to you

Hello and welcome to Straight Razor Place. The razor looks good. As Mick noted, however, have the razor honed professionally. That way you will have the proper start for the straight razor world.

Well, you'd get out of the drizzle all right, but you'd be stepping right out into hail storms on a daily basis here at the moment. It be the wet season right now.
I'm off in a moment myself. Getting way past my bedtime. Nice looking razor by the way. As Steph said of himself, I'm no expert on the brands either.
