    Welcome Aboard Portsecurity!

I'm still Active Duty CG, station in the San Francisco Bay area right now - Glad to see another Coastie here

The rabbit holes are indeed plentiful - I've only been using a straight for a little over 2 years and will never go back.

    Semper Paratus shipmate!
They even have a name for it dear, it's called Razor Acquisition Disorder...

You've got a good start there. Some nice razors to work with. I assume you have a good strop also? That is a very important skill to learn for maintaining your edges. Read lots of instruction posts and watch videos in areas that you're weak on. Lots of knowledgeable people here can help if you have questions also.
Thanks Paul. Stropping is an area I have lots of room for improvement. I usually save SR shaves for the weekend when I have time to strop and time to focus on not cutting myself! I feel a little more confident in my stropping as I am getting deeper into this, less likely to just grab my shavette.

Semper paratus! I love running into Coasties, and its kind of amazing how many of us there are given how small our service is. Are you at a small boat station? We had a CWO running ours for a few years. I really respected that guy. Loved crewing on 41s and 44s. What a great job, best I will ever have! Many times my crew and I would say I can't believe we get paid to do this! I also love SR shaving, and have trouble resisting collecting way more straights than I "need." Great to connect with you.
    Craig
