Thanked: 28Welcome to SRP alimac =] I started out not too long ago as well, but I already have a serious case of RAD (razor acquisition disorder) and HAD (hone acquisition disorder). It is very addictive! proceed with caution =P

Thanked: 485Welcome! I'm having a think and just realised that apart from my first razor, all the razors currently in my rotation were bought here. I have bought a couple of nice razors from ebay, but I think I was lucky. I was very lucky that my first razor (a Burrell Top Flight) certainly was have ready.

Welcome Ali to SRP.
You will hear from quite a few locals on this forum.
Read, read and read more from the SRP library. There is a HUGE amount of information to digest.

Thanked: 0Hey guys!
So my straight razor from Larry finally arrived today, it's a Gustav Kaiser flying wedge, does anyone know anything about these?

It's a poster child for abuse. It has worn so badly that you see the bevels on the spine and the edge touching each other near the toe of the razor. Is this another of those razors that were sold 'sight unseen'?

Thanked: 0Hey guys,
It is indeed a sight unseen razor, I've got no idea what I'm looking at as this is my first razor, is it really in that much of a bad condition?

Well let me ask you this ..... had you seen it would you have bought it ? I know you are new to this. I'm not sure how much research you've done on what to look for in a vintage razor, and what to avoid. Excessive and/or uneven hone wear are two things that it is suggested to avoid in a vintage razor. You have some good mentors/honers in your neck of the woods. Maybe checking out what is available locally, or within your own country might be a better bet than taking a chance on 'sight unseen.' IMHO..
