Thanked: 1587Hi Alimac,
Yes, the poor old girl's had a hard life. You might get a bit more life out of it yet, but IMHO that's a give away razor (and maybe not even that to be honest) not one you could sell on with any good conscience. But perhaps that is just me.

Thanked: 0Thanks for all the advice guys, can't say I'm over the moon about the razor I received but I did but it sight unseen, I guess I've learnt my lesson about going down that path.
I must admit, despite my gut feeling about buying an unseen product, I was persuaded by all the reviews and recommendations from other members and other razor forums, having said that, I've seen other posts from people who have been less than happy with their "sight unseen" razors.
On an absolute positive, one of the members here has contacted me and offered to send me a decent razor, I was stunned at the generosity of the offer but won't mention their name until they say its ok to do so but it has turned a bad experience into an incredibly positive one!

Welcome to SRP, Ali - great to have another Aussie on board.
As far as your razor goes, it certainly isn't very pretty, however, from what I have heard about Larry, it should shave well.
Learn as much about your technique with this one and then go onto something a little more aesthetically pleasing, if you enjoy cut-throat shaving as much as the rest of us.
There is an Australian forum called 'Paste and Cut', however it moves very slowly and seems to lean more towards the DE user than cut-throats.
Hope things work out well for you and we hear how you go.Last edited by Havachat45; 04-29-2013 at 11:01 PM. Reason: Spelling error - I live like I type - fast with a lot of mistakes

Ton of wear on that razor plus rust in the bevel. Possibly that rust will cause chips on next honing if a next honing is even possible.
The irony in buying cheap sight unseen stuff is that it may cost you more than you think. If you avail yourself of the return policy you are out another $20 in registered postage to the USA.The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
