Well with the exception of Bill, I don't think I'll be rushing to order any of these.

What's that razor? It looks... unusual!

In fact, it looks so unusual, I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't a razor and I just made a fool of myself.

It's a cheap shavette that was given to me by my kids barber. You can read more about that here http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...l-foolish.html. I'm waiting for my Shumate Dollar which should arrive by Tuesday, but I have to say this razor is not too bad. I'm enjoying learning with it, although I know the SR is going to be a whole different experience.

Thought this thread deserved a bump, so here's a kamisori stand I made out of soapstone last week. Tons of inclusions in this particular chunk of stone made it a bit of a challenge at times when carving, but that's OK since I like the look of them when it is all done.

Apart from a drill press to bore out where the edge is suspended, everything else was done with hand tools. Files, chisels, carving knives, sandpaper and micromesh, and finished with beeswax.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
