I think you have it upside down, Richard? The egg should perch on the smaller end!

It's a twofer item. In the shell on the small end used by the pretenders of good taste. Scooped out and messed with on the big end by the ingestors of daily protein need for a good days work.

Thanked: 556Seem to have more luck at flea markets and auctions than at “treasure stores”. I have yet to see a razor or shaving accessory at a Goodwill, Salvation Army or Value Village.

Thanked: 3225One of the few shaving items to show up at a local Salvation Army Store was a gold Gillette Toggle. It was auctioned off and iirc I won for $60.00 which is not a steal but well under the going rate for a decent Toggle without case.

I hit up the Goodwill a few times a month but never find any shave stuff. Keep looking for old scuttles mixed in with the coffee cups too. Ive never found a single shave item.
It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 556Apparently yes!
I also find myself looking at the belts and wondering which might work as a strop, but I have yet to find a good candidate.David

Tintin, I did state a bit of nostalgia. Post if it brings back memories.
DZEC I do like your thinking. They used to make quite wide belts a time ago. I'm adding the belt section to my weekly day of gathering."The sharpening stones from time to time provide officers with gasoline."

Goodwill yesterday, $7.42 with tax... Nice at $40 usually! Finally a place near the kitchen sink to have all my hones by grades and stuff I use with them. Downsizing can be a hassle if you have a lot of small items!
Few enough hones, now, that the drawers shouldn't sag. I have been looking for one to do the job,
YMMV
