Be a bit careful with ivory scales. They are thin and flex easily but can be on the brittle side.

Yes, and they very commonly get cracks lengthwise at the wedge end from the tip to the other side of the pin but usually not the whole way.

No. I did some wheeling and dealing with an old member on this site. He is no longer around.
Back on topic...
I recently found a tiny tin cup that is perfect for soaking my brush. I only soak for a minute or two so it holds the hot water just long enough.It's just Sharpening, right?

Came up quite nicely that one, and looks to be La Veinette:
After cleaning it up a bit we had to go into town and I popped my head into my favourite salvage / second hand tool shop. Came away with a few grubby old stones, which turned out to be a Washita, Hindo, Turkish, and this...
10x2" of stunning green Thuri (!!!)
