Nice pic Tom. Sure shows off the ridges in the bowl.
BTW, The "Cute little Omega" should work a dream in that. I will be sure to try it out. But I'd rather a 24mm like you.

Otay! I dig it! Began with a sample which had been a bear to lather a bit in a mug.
Barrister and Manns Vetyver Santal. Used my 24mm 'Mighty Beaver' shavemac from MikeB52.

A peanut in the bottom and smashed it into the grooves, a bit of hot water while I trimmed.

After a bit, Began stirring. Played around a bit.
I find this bowl makes over-watering a non-issue. A few swirls and you can get back where you were.
It seems to take the air out as you go. No foamy, sloppy. The peanut stayed put and did not ride around the bowl.
Loaded the brush nicely. I could have used a bigger brush if I wanted.
As was said, the angles of the bowl translate it to a much larger bowl. No brush-banging.

Home Run, IMO. Don't know how I would change a thing. Aside for saving the rest of this soap for winter.

Thanks for posting the pictures. I may to get one of those eventually. Hate having the soap come loose in my mug when I’m trying to lather.
Also, really digging the matching snurdler.

    Yeah. Worked good!

All I really want to do is load the hell out of the brush.
Not have a bowl-full of lather, really.

I mean.....I sent my scuttle to Pete!

I hear ya on the building lather, Tom. I use my scuttle for the making of some lather but mainly to build up my brush. I do half and half. Face and bowl lather. Its a little easier on the face than just face lathering. Plus you still have a little in the bowl if ya need a little more.

I have to say that it seems to be a perfect size! I wasnt trying to make a bowl full of lather, but to load my brush and it did this with a sample of Klar very nicely. As Tom said, the soap stuck in place and i didnt have to chase it around the bowl. But i do think it did add air into my brush/lather. But this was only while loading the brush. When i took my brush to my face and began to make a creamy lather, the air was not present any longer. I used a 22mm knot and i feel i could have used bigger without any issues.

I can see this being a great way to use samples. BTW, i floated the bowl in the sink to put a little warmth into it. But it just dont hold the heat for long. Still, it was worth a try, and i got a nice shave with some great Klar Lather.
Thanks to Tom for the gift. It will be in my sample drawer for a long time to come.

I could be wrong, but stirring the opposite direction after a while seemed to take the air out.
Gotta get the lather in all the grooves!
(Only used mine the one time)
