So after seeing this I pulled the trigger and ordered one in 1.5.
I have found I am not a fan of smaller scuttles and am hoping this will fill that nitch. I have been looking for something and couldn't find one that I liked until now. Lord I hope I dont develope SCAD!!!!
Thanks Deig and Obie for pointing the way toward this!!

You will be amazed and pleased with your purchase and wonder why you waited on pulling the trigger...

I'm shopping for a scuttle as well, but I'll get something a bit more compact, since my counter space is limited.

    Default 3 Scuttles

Here's a pic I've posted before, and not to take anything away from G, the original poster.
This shows 3 popular scuttles. From left to right. The Georgetown Pottery G5 w/cork.
The Dirty Bird 1.5 in the middle, and finally, the huge, Dirty Bird Double.

If your going with DB, The Double is the best imo, It just holds the heat better. You'd think the GTP G5 would with the cork, but it doesn't. It only holds about 2 cups of water, and heat disapates quickly, where the DB Double is over 6 inches wide, and holds 4 cups....The DB Double is larger than the Schwarzeisskeramik and easier to pronounce...Also, DB is available in the U.S.

What really pushed me to order the DB Double was Al's, The bomb cream. I just could not get it to lather well. Al said, "Use a big bowl". He was right.

I believe it was bout a month, but it really depends on where she is in production. Each piece is made to order and I think she slings a few before firing. You could always email her to get a definite answer.

My goodness....I hope you have a nice sized counter to rest that on D. Holding it for lathering will certainly build forearm muscles.

I really love the colours as well.
