Still iron deficiency was a thing +100 years ago but may have other names.

A well seasoned cast iron pan does not add iron to the diet but acidic foods will allow
iron to be leached.

Most importantly a cast iron pan in the hands of a great cook adds great tasting food
to the table and that alone can help.

Then there were the days when leaches and bloodletting were a medical thing... we know
better today.

So just say yes to a cast iron pan...
