Merry Christmas to all of you.
Multiple family units to coordinate so the big dinner for me was at our house tonight.
I grazed for about 4 hours starting with peanut butter cookies that my grandson made today.
He decided we should start with desert. By the time dinner rolled around I had so many cookies, chips and dip etc. etc. that I barely had room for the main course of shrimp with baked potatoes, salad, rutabagas.
My youngest son is dog sitting a black lab for the holidays and it is doing a great job on cleaning the floor after the grandchildren.

Ha, we forgot to get the turkey out of the freezer until about 9am on Christmas Day.
Mad panick I can tell you!
We had the 18lb bird in the sink and changed the water every 15 minutes all day to thaw it.
Ended up eating Christmas Dinner at 10pm on Christmas Evening.
Ha Ha got to laugh really. I had partaken of plenty of liquid Christmas Cheer so I thought it was funny as (well lets just say very funny)

I am in charge of breakfast, so I whipped up some overnight cinnamon rolls from Alton Brown. Time consuming, but well worth it.
My mom being a cheesemonger had a nice plate of cured meats and cheeses
For dinner we had veal cutlet "parmesan" (subbed for mozarella), spaghetti and some fresh bread.
Dessert was apple and cherry pies with some vanilla bean icecream.

Thanked: 113Joy to the World and you All!
Traditionally, we disconnect from the net during Christmas Eve and Christmas to focus on the family and the true meaning of Christmas.
For Christmas dinner, I smoked spiral ham bone in... It turned out delicious. We served it with homemade cranberry sauce, mac&cheese, steamed string beans, asparagus, and cauliflower with butter, garlic salt, and Parmesan. For dessert, we've had freshly peeled pomegranate with vanilla ice cream and a drink of choice.
Cheers to you All.Last edited by neehooya; 12-26-2019 at 05:47 PM.

Christmas Eve leftover experiment
After two days from the big Christmas Eve dinner at my house this is what is left and the experiment of what to do with it.
A Frittata made in cast iron with a leek butter lube. Chopped up baked potatoes for the first layer and then shrimp on half with salami and rutabaga on the other. Some onion and then mostly garlic cheddar and then a small corner of cherry cheddar on the shrimp side.
Don't ask me to explain the cherry cheddar ask my wife........
The only thing not leftover is the eggs.
This is before the oven.

Don't ask me for the recipe!
Chances are that this will never be duplicated!
