I come from a rural (farm family) and enjoy my four and two legged protein consumption. I also don't care what pork is classified as as long as it's on the plate and ready to eat.
When I moved the 35 miles from Dayton to Walla Walla back in '80 I would never had thought of asking someone if they ate pork before asking them to dinner as I hadn't known any Jewish people nor did we have Seventh Day Adventist that I knew. However that changed once I'd made the move. There is a large SDA population here and I'd asked a gal to my home for supper but when she found out that I'd fixed pork chops she said she couldn't eat them--well that left out the gravy so we ate out.
I too have noticed how many medieval movies have guys gnawing on something like a turkey leg (as they are almost always quite large) but there was a movie made in the 80's called 'Beast Master' and if memory serves there's a scene where the main character is gnawing on a roasted lamb shank (front leg of a lamb) as it was huge.
My dad said that he'd once seen a bear skinned out and hanging and that it looked like a human being--so he never ever ate anything made of bear meat.
Enjoy the home delivery/take out!Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

I'm the other guy who loves those damn Claxton's fruitcakes. Sadly, I never saw any around in stores this year-somebody else must have bought that one they put out for me to buy. Oh, well, maybe next year. Happy New Year whatever you eat, men!
