Nothing wrong with a can of beans for lunch. It's stick to your ribs kinda food. Plus they're so good for your heart!

Yup, nothing wrong with beans for lunch. I add some cut wieners/hot dogs in with the beans and simmer it till the hot dogs plump up a bit. There is a difference between Canadian hot dogs and American ones from what I have seen. The Canadian ones have a soft casing but the American ones have a harder one. Gave up using Maple Leaf hot dogs because they now have the harder casings.

I like the natural casings; the ones with a "snap." It makes your teeth feel involved in the lunch. Now there you gotta have mustard also; mustard and a beer. I think it should be illegal to have a hotdog without a beer. At least that should apply at a hockey game or other live sports events.

Back to beans; my favorite is Ranch Style Beans. Anyone in the south or southwest knows what I'm talking about.

When you say mustard Paul, do you mean Mustard or that nasty yellow ketchup that's sold in the UK supermarkets as American Mustard?

On a hotdog brown mustard if I can get it, the darker and spicier the better. I like the brown mustard better on most things but I like yellow mustard on a Cuban sandwich.

I like hot mustard(colemans or keenes), I pile that stuff on everything. I also like French or German but i don't even like the smell of that yellow squeezy bottle stuff that my wife likes on her hotdogs.

Cultural thing I guess, I'm not from round here originally of course.

As far as beans go though. The last time I was in the States I discovered Krogers, what a wonderful store and i had my first experience with Bush's Baked beans - OMG where had they been all my life!

Now that is a great can of baked beans!

I grilled some brats and burgers a couple of days ago. It's been my lunch for two days and I think enough is left for one more day. Deep fry some fries and you got a full meal.

I like to have something during the week to hold in my hand and scarf.
Hit a little donut shop this morning as I sometimes do. A little microwave and a bottle of water.
Bacon, egg, and cheese croissant for a late breakfast and a few sausage Kolaches for a late lunch.

    Not much for me...anymore.

Basically just snack on things throughout the day, and a meal in the evening.

    Here's my typical lunch.
