Here is a shot of the collection as it won at the Durham Fair. I had as many questions about how I made the display shelves as I did about the hot sauces:

Love spicy food and hot sauces too. I tend to have a bowl of raw green chillies next to my plate when I eat curries. Love the heat!

But when friend bought me this it was way too much. Even the smallest drop on my pinky was too hot for words. Why would anyone create such a hot sauce?

I've only ever known one person to use it -- an Indian friend of mine who was brought up eating hot. Otherwise, this stuff is just for starting fires as far as I'm concerned.

In that case you had better stay away from Dave's Ultimate Insanity!

Total hot sauce junkie, though I don't have much of a collection I probably use Frank's extra hot and rooster sauce the most these days, or tapatio with mexican food (though I'd prefer something hotter...anyone got a reco??). I've got a handful of specialty sauces that people have given me as gifts, but the only one that really blew me away was "Ferris Fire." Made by a chef that my brother used to work with...habanero based, and the stuff is delicious. I need to try to get some more...

Edit - I was demolished a few years ago by a few drops of Dave's right on the tounge...dude said I wouldn't do it, and I probably shouldn't have. I love hot, but that stuff is downright vicious.

I don't know if this will be helpful to you "heat" junkies, but the same people who import Dominica Bay Rum after shave also deal in some hot sauces! Here is a link:http://www.calantilles.com/

I said in the beginning I don't use those "pepper extract" sauces like Dave's or Blair's because they are not really food.

Mejnoon, if you want more heat than Tapatio (I was actually sponsored ina chili cookoff by the Tapatio folks. I had several great conversations with Jaqui Saavedra, daughter of the owner) any of the habanero sauces will give you much heat and lots of wonderful flavor. If you like a smoky taste try something made from chipotles. Check out this catalog of hot stuff at Mo Hotta Mo Betta: http://www.mohotta.com/

Or you can see what my buddy Paul McIlhenny has to offer down in Louisianna: http://www.tabasco.com/main.cfm

    Default HELP

Some of you might be able to help me find my all time favorite, called SOB, it was more of a paste than a sauce, good heat but with an incredible flavor, came in a small jar, I did use it on just about everything, but the best was with steaks. I am ready to kiss butt to get it, this is how bad I want it (NO JOKES).

There used to be a large place in town that sold SOB, but it isn't here anymore. It's probably here somewhere though. Good stuff - I couldn't find it for sale online, but I did find this. Is this the same thing you used to eat?
