what do you drink?
when i go to the bar and get a drink (other than beer) its usually rum and coke or a gin and tonic. hoping to try some new drinks when i get home, what kind of stuff do you all prefer? just curious.

Wild Turkey. On the rocks. Splash of water.

Single malt scotch, rocks
Johnny Walker black/red, soda
Vodka tonic
(if yer feelin crazy) red bull & vodka
Guiness. Sweet nectar of the gods.

Usually I'll have scotch neat. Sometimes tequila neat or with a splash of lime. I used to like Jack & Ginger, Jack & Coke, or Captain's & Coke, but I mostly stopped drinking mixed drinks.
Actually, this reminds me that I've not been to the bar in quite a while...

basil-i have never tried rye, i will try this one when i get back (if they have rye at the bars)
not a big fan of jack, and you dont know how bad that always ends up since i live in TN lol,

For me its either a Gin Martini (very dry), Single Malt Scotch (on the rocks) or a Vermouth Cassis.
The latter is difficult to order because so few bartenders know how to make it. The recipe is, as follows:
1 1/2 oz dry vermouth
3/4 oz creme de cassis
carbonated water
I forgot to mention that I have also been known to order a "Horse's Neck." That's brandy and ginger ale over ice.Last edited by jhenry; 08-08-2010 at 08:23 PM.
