+1000 on the Cuban Sandwich. Few things better, especially with a side of rice and black bean soup. A close second would be an Italian Beef or the classic Philly Cheese Steak.

My breakfast this morning, smoked salmon and egg sandwich.
Actually, as far as fast food goes, the Spicy Italian at the Subway chain can't be beat. I eat those twice a week, practically. Did you know that Subway is a bigger chain than even McDonalds (over 23,000 stores vs 14,000)? It's the largest in the US, and, as far as I can tell, the highest quality, too,
Cuban sandwiches! I love those, but there's no place to get one around here. I need to make my own if I want one. The best one I had was in Panama. I still remember it fondly.
All the seafood sandwiches being mentioned, I don't know if anyone mentioned a Lobster Roll, like you can get out on Cape Cod. Those were tasty as hell too. I spent a lot of time on New Orleans as a kid, so I have to mention the Po'Boy. A shrimp or oyster po'boy is something that really hits the spot.
Since New Orleans came up, did anybody mention the Muffaletta? Now that's a good sandwich. I think that might be my favorite.
Not sure if this counts as a sandwich or not, but something I love is to fry fresh albacore tuna and roll it up in a tortilla with mayo, thinly sliced jalepenos, cilantro, and a lot of lettuce. I make a lot of tuna when I fry it (because it makes a mess) and I have a lot of leftovers. It's even better cold the next day.
Since becoming vegetarian , there hasn't been a sandwich that I have said is amazing until I went to a local vegan diner in Hollywood and they served me the vegan version of the "big Mac" all I can say is thi is how a burger should taste :)

For me, nothing beats a good old fashioned fried bologna sandwich.
Since Thanksgiving is approaching I am reminded of a favorite sandwich of mine called "The Bobbie" from Capriotti's.
It's plain sub style bread, cranberry sauce, stuffing, turkey, mayo. Easy to make with the leftovers from the big feast!
I was hungry by page 5.
So I got up and made Peanut Butter and Jelly on old fashioned white, with a glass of milk at page 9. Got to be the go to can't believe I did not see it mentioned sooner (maybe I missed it).
Grilled Cheese and Ham with tomato soup. (cheddar)
Must be my favorites Those would be the ones I eat the most.
But the winner is a hamburger with all the trimmings, open faced and covered with chili and a side of mayo.
