Tonight's refreshment is an IPA from up in Michigan.

I'm guessing the name comes from a Hemingway story. Anybody into literary trivia?

Not so much literary as an interest in beer trivia. According to Bell's Brewery -- Two Hearted Ale | Bell's Brewery -- "Brewed with 100% Centennial hops from the Pacific Northwest and named after the Two Hearted River in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula . . ."

However, according to Wikipedia, Hemmingway did name his story after the river: "Hemingway used the name because of its appeal; however, the geography of the story indicates that Hemingway was really describing a different trout stream, the Fox River near Seney."

You were close, but you know your trivia. Me, I'm just a fact checking editor.
    Namaste,

This afternoon's pint was a homebrewed New England style Double IPA modeled (as best as I can figure) on Heady Topper. Not too bad. Sorry, but I forgot to take a picture. I'll try to get one tomorrow.

What yeast did you use? I just tried the Barbarian from Imperial for the first time last weekend which is supposed to be the Conan strain from The Alchemist. I threw in some Centennials at 60, then a few oz of Mosiacs at flame out. My nose was glued to the airlock for a few days. Kegging next weekend..

This beer was recommended to me 5 years ago by a beer connoisseur on Youtube. I told him that I really enjoy German Hefeweizens like Erdinger, Weihenstefaner, and Schneider Weisse. He told me that this one is one of the best he's ever had. Since then I have tried countless times to find it, with no luck. I had completely forgotten about it until I stumbled upon it today at the beer store.

It's as delicious as I expected. Cheers everyone! Today was the hottest day yet this year here in Ontario. 29 degrees Celsius.

    That looks delicious, Harrywally.

I was a big fan of Paulaner Hefeweizen when I could find it locally.

If you can find Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier, please don't pass it up. I can find it sometimes here in Denver. It is not to be missed if you like the style.
