Most of the supermarkets just relabel ale, whiskey and vodka brands

In Ontario, Canada some of the supermarkets now sell beer and wine, but if you want anything else the only place to go is the LCBO (Liqueur Control Board Ontario).

We don't have off licenses like in the UK, the province is the only one allowed to sell spirits.

Interestingly, we can buy weed from hundreds of pot shops.

Took the kids to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary today. One of the permanent residents is a chap called Ray. He was rescued as a pup after a storm and suffered from a bad knock to the head. As a result he has brain damage and need of long term treatment. He displays characteristics that are uncommon in seals but is such a character he has had a lager in honour of him. How could I resist helping the cause?

Okay, not exactly your “beer of the day”, but to wind down in Italy I enjoy their selection of bitters. And yes, there’s the Fernet Branca for those that really like herbs and there’s your Ramazzotti for the mainstream folks, but my favourite is still the Amaro Monte Negro, on ice.
A great way to say goodnight after a beautiful day.

Don't normally go for ales from the US of A but this is a lovely, medium hopped treat.
