I am with you Samuel Smith is an English and I am a big fan of the Belgian style beers.
We will often have a Lambic with a Sunday brunch. I am partial to a Framboise, the misses and kids prefer Pomme, and yes when we do this the kids get a taster!
If it was a pure exchange with no money exchanging hands then there should be no tax.
I like a wee fruit lambic myself and so does the wife. When we were in Brugge this year she must've tried every one there was!

As I'm only a cider drinker I'll to put forward my beverage of choice a Welsh cider produced just down the road from me, called Gwyn Y ddraig which is Welsh for Black Dragon, I'm also a big fan of Thatchers Katy cider, single variety artisan ciders are the way forward if you want to give this drink a try, a good cider will put some good wines to shame as far as flavour and complexity. This special reserve cider has been hand crafted exclusively from cider apples grown by traditional methods in ageing orchards. The juice pressed from these apples is fermented and matured in oak barrels to produce a cider rich in colour body and flavour with a fresh fruity aroma, Black Dragon Medium Dry, 6.5 abv.

The variety of cider available in the UK has exploded in recent years.
And I totally agree about thatchers. I see they have some new ones out recently too that I'll have to try
