Thread: Tea anyone ??!!

Did you experience the wonderful experience of caffeine withdrawals when you cut down on the coffee? Pretty weird experience. It was exactly the opposite reaction I would expect; irritable, headaches, having a hard time falling asleep etc.

Ok Gents....My friend William who is from Russia and lives here in the states gave me a bag of Russian Black tea.The Brand is called Czar Nikolas II and the particular blend is thus simply called Premium Russian Tea(they do have other blends though)And I put 1 teaspoon as was directed by William.First off,it's like nothing I have ever tasted.It's like real Bergamot only sorta smokey.I sweetened it russian style with a little strawberry jam and it were pure deeelight !! It's loose leaf tea by the by.They keep the blend proprietary as the label simply says black tea,flavoring.Seriously,I am used to 2-3 bags of PG tips and was skeptical about just one teaspoon.But that was all it took Wowww! I am also not going to get a Samovar(too expensive and hard to find .Plus I was informed by some Rus friends that a teapot is perfectly acceptable these days any way. but I am going to look into Some Russian Postakinnicki for a novelty.They are Metal holders that house heat resistant glasses.They used to be very common in train stations in Russia.They are stupid expensive so I am going to have a search on my hands.They are all over the e-bay etc. but the trick is finding the sweet deal. I love tea ahhhhhhhh ! And people give me funny looks when I talk about straight razors...go fig !

"Postakinnicki" ("Podstakanniki" is more correct) is used for faceted glasses. So, you have to buy the one too.

night, i get the same reaction when i discuss razors also, and sometimes i get it when i talk about tea, so your not alone.

For me, it is all about an iced rooibos latté, sweetened with a little cane sugar and spiced lightly with cardamom and allspice. It really can't be beat.

Da indeed !! I have some friends from Russia and I love the culture more as each day goes by ! It amazes me how much the holders themselves cost,but yet the glasses are dirt cheap ha ha.and when I say expensive guys I mean starting prices at $40.00 and I have seen them goes as high as $700.00 .......I'm dying here !

If anybody heard such price in a russian flea market, they come to you personaly to sell you the holders (joke). It's realy very big price for it!

Yes....one would expect a little personal service at that price.I don't know of any good bone china that even sells for that much ha ha !So are you from Russia sir.I am assuming you might be.

Well I stand corrected now.....as of tonight I just saw a Russian tea glass holder selling for $5,700 ,the seller is claiming it is a Faberge piece. Me thinks I smell a red herring HA ! It numbs my mind I tell you.

Vintage Russian tea glass holder made of silver might be very pricey. Just saw one on our domestic website auction. Beautiful peace, at least 100 years old, silver, price 250 €. Real Faberges are way much more expensive and rare.

Beautiful new tea glasses and metal holders are sold almost everywhere here. Here's an example. It costs about 14-15 €.
