Tonight's tea:
Da Hong Pao, served from my new red clay teapot on my new serving tray.
I love the new tray, wanted one of these for a while, and the new pot is small enough to allow me to steep my tea the chinese way. I am eagerly awaiting my (very small) yixing pot.
Showing the tray better:

Thanked: 198Well started my work week out on a good not, some tiayang 2008 cooked Pu erh. Got about 6 or 7 infusions in before I had to leave for work. My smaller giawan doesn't give more than a half glass full, but with Pu erh that is enough

Sweet Jesus, microwaved water?!
I've had a terrible tea day today! I tried ice-brewed sencha, except the weather just wasn't hot enough—I was still waiting for the ice to melt by the time I had to leave and, even though I made it quite clear, no one else in the house drank the tea, so when I came back, I found a lukewarm pot of bitter tea and leaves that I couldn't do much else with.
I made houjicha instead but I underestimated the water, so I had a really strong cup, which then messed up my second cup. I mean, it was ok but nothing special.
I just want a nice tea when I'm back on form, tomorrow.

300 pages...some hardcore tea drinkers here I love my typical Irish tea with a drop of milk but I never expected to find a thread like this on here, so amusing
