Great Man tea... Earthy and Musty... Like good pipe tobacco or well aged cigars...

Evening gents,
I always enjoy a good cup of chai. Dark, spiced... my favorite has a strong hint of cinnamon. Recently I found my local market sells fresh tea (no bags) that you have to either package yourself or brew in a steeper. This type I tried the other day, "Chinese gunpowder", blew my mind. It was like green tea with some oomph behind it. Very earthy. Anyone else have a place like that near them?

i have a teashop that i frequent near me, its in virginia. i havent tried gunpowder, but if it is a green tea, i can tell you that i wont be. the tannin in green tea upsets my stomach very badly, i personally drink china blacks, ie lapsang souchong, and russian caravan, czar nicholas. i also drink pu ehr, and a few other types that i have found to my liking, if you want earthy, try the pu ehr, it is very earthy, it comes in a green and a processed, or cooked as it is called,

There was a place up near where I used to live in San Luis Obispo that would blend you a custom tea. I had one that was a mix of Red bush, black, black pepper and Kava-kava. Really crazy good stuff, albeit spicy and it made your face go numb. Generally I drink somewhere in the neighborhood of 4-8 cups of tea a day. I can't stand green tea though. It tastes like feet and burnt hair to me.

I'm in the same boat... Mine is mostly Iced Tea...

iced tea is something I will drink myself silly with in tue summer, I usually take.2 gal to work and drink all but half a gallon during the night, the rest is for the ride home. phil try sweetening it with half a cup of sugar, and half a cup of honey. now that makes it nice
