As mentioned, my promised package arrived... All I can say is WOW! I like Burgamont but holy crap this stuff is strong... At first smell from the bag the aroma clings to the tongue, it's spicy with a floral traste... Almost a numbing effect...
I'm going to have to adjust my brew time or the amount of leaves...

Thanked: 1160Hey you guys...it's me Nightblade ! I'm online tonight via a borrowed computer.Loon sent me a message which I just read tonight concerning Russian tea.Lemme see if I can maybe help out with some commentary here. First off...Yes Loon, the tea you have Czar Nicholas is indeed the Russian tea that I had.And..to all who are interested I have since stopped drinking it.Let me elaborate.......I found that this tea was way to artificial tasting for me.I suspect the flavorings used in it and it's quality also.I have since gone back to a favorite and true Russian tea blender that I have known about for the last 7 years.Kusmi or Kusmichoff tea. They were as their history goes, the original tea perveyors to Czar Nicholas II .After the Bolshevick Revolution they fled to Paris and set up shop there. They have been blending the same wonderful tea blends ever since. They have a store in New York that you can order online from and there are also some online gourmet tea and kitchen shops that carry most of their blends as well .Two such shops being Cardullos gourmet shoppe and Cybercucina. The 4 oz loose leaf tins run about 16-17 dollars and they also sell their teas in bag form. Kusmi only sells online,no apparent 800 number however the other two mentioned shops do have a phone number should you feel more comfortable talking to a human being as I like to do. I recommend going to the Kusmi tea site and looking over the various blends.I have tried the Troika,Prince Vladimere and the St. Petersburg(Currently having a cup as I write) and they are wonderful. The Russian blends are Chines tea based and are better taken with a little sugar and no dairy.I have not tried any of the other non russian blends they make.Kusmi is good stuff and I strongly recommend it. Can't wait till I can afford a computer again so I can catch up wit Ya'll.I been missin everybody somthing powerful.Tax season was not kind so I am looking at another couple of monthes without a computer. **&^%%$$% !!!!.....but on a good note.Since being without a computer , I have gotten back into my watercolor painting and I have been reading a lot more.Anybody remember books ?! Heheh ! I'll be up if anybody wants to gab.Time fer me to go pour another cup of St. Petersburg mmm Yumehhh !!

Thanked: 983Glad to hear from you Steph. Didn't know you were into watercolours as well. I haven't touched mine in quite awhile. Maybe I should. As for books, I spend alot of time with books. Well, as much as family life allows anyway.

Thanked: 198well, i can honestly say i havent picked up a book in a while, for some reason, i havent felt into reading, but that could soon change, who knows, and thanks for the heads up steph, i am glad i have the right tea, and as for getting some of the higher end russian blends well that will have to wait till i finish what i already have or swmbo will KILL me, but my daughter will love it. she is a heavy tea drinker like i am.
