I am diggin this Russian tea blend from Kusmi...it's red fruits with Bergamot and a hint of caramel. It's not what you think as it doesn't taste like a caramel apple or anything.Just a very satisfying blend. And even though I'm fond of cream in m'tea,I really like this black. Kusmi used to be located in St. Petersburg until the revolution and they then fled to Paris and have prospered ever since. Czar Nicholas II was a fan of theirs. Now all I need is a cute russian girl to keep me company whilst I sip away my cares..............

Lapsang souchong - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I just had a cup of Lapsang souchong, I love this stuff, it's like drinking a campfire on a cold wet morning. May have to make another cup

Yes I have a dedicated cup for this tea, it can be a bit clingy to anything you brew it in

Pfff .. happy to read that I'm not the only Phu-er tea drinker am.
The people around me do not like it. they prefer the licorice tea or tea marocc
At home we drink a lot of tea. One liter per day minimum.

This is the lapsang souchong that I drink: http://www.google.com/search?q=adagi...rd:p&prmd=ivns
(if the link happens to not work, search "adagio lapsang souchong")
Those canisters will keep it reasonably fresh for a LONG time. I ordered a bunch of them in bulk over a year ago, and am about halfway through my last one. The tea is still good.

You brew it like any other loose tea. You can use a brewer or a tea-ball if you want something cheap. I use this tea brewer and love it: Teavana® Perfect Tea Maker (32oz.) - Teavana

I was't sure if it was a "short" brew tea or long... I did find a site and they reccomend 1-3 minutes...

My usual brew time on my loose tea is the same...

I have the same Teavanna brew "mug" as well, but i use a ball in a black mug for the smoked stuff I like it at 4 minutes, my regular starting time for all my tea. some go 5mins but that depends on the age.

I've always enjoyed a cup of tea but until recently, only on rare occasion. I however, quit drinking coffee recently because it seemed like it was messing with my gall bladder.

After reading this post, I bought some Pu-ehr tea in both "raw" and "ripe" varieties and I'm hooked! My issue with loose tea when I would buy it (normally organic) is that it was expensive and I seemed to only get a few infusions at best from the leaves.

I'm very impressed by Pu-ehr tea because it seems that varieties less than five years old are inexpensive given the fact that it's amazingly, a tea that just keeps on giving! I can easily get up to ten infusions per 5 gram batch by just extending the infusion times gradually. I think I paid $6 for 100 grams on average. So...if my math is correct that's .03 cents per cup for me? I like it.

I started with the green "raw" but at this point I'm liking the ripe varieties more. The ripe varieties have notes of tobacco and seaweed smells in the cup, but taste nothing like either to me and instead the taste is extremely smooth.

    Fun stuff.
