Thanked: 235I was thinking about buying a few disks of puer tea. The lady at the tea stand at the local shopping center was nice enough to let me try some. Unfortuantly I found out that it is really not to my taste. I'll leave the puer to others and stick to my oolongs.

A lot of Earl Grey for me, with turkish black tea or chinese gunpowder tea for ice tea, and the occational cup of Lapsang Souchong. I love tea, but I really enjoy a nice cup of coffee as well.

Tea is primarily an after dinner thing for me. I usually go with green or a green/mint blend. Morning time is for coffee, either a cup of whatever I picked up at Trader Joe's or a New Orleans style cafe au lait.

Thanked: 1160As far as Coffee goes besides the French Press,I have to say I am fond of the Cafe au lait. But it's got to be the real deal for me.Real New Orleans chicory coffee with half hot(not steamed or frothed)milk and half coffee poured at the same time in a mug ..and of course served with three French Biegnets dusted lovingly with lots of powdered sugar. And now back to Tea....pass the marmalade and butter would you please ? Having a cuppa PG Tips as we speak ahhhhh...........

Thanked: 235Any tea drinkers here use a Gaiwan? I was given one as a gift recently and tried it last night. Apart from a novel way to brew tea I like the idea of it being an all purpose brewing container.
Now I just have to learn how to pour it properly so I don't make a mess or burn my hand with steam from the first infusion.

I recently purchased a Yixing pot and have been enjoying Jasmine Pearl tea. I also have a gaiwan on it's way to use at work. The local tea shop also has a Blood Orange herbal tea which both my daughter and wife love so we are slowly moving from coffee to tea here. I still need to pick up some pu-erh to try.
I usually drink my black teas first thing in the morning and my white/green/herbal teas through out the day.

Mate, Your on yer own here. I grew up in the bush. Curry is what you add to food that is starting to turn, so as to minimise food wastage. Needless to say, I don't like Curry. 'Proper' is not an oft used word in relation to tea here these days. Most 'Strines these days use teabags...Not that 'Proper' at all really.
