Not likely. Unless it is something they sell already, they probably would not risk it. Government makes them account for everything they produce, even tastings from distillery tours.

Time for some Elijah Craig . . .
https://t.co/AZryKiyP9k
Saw a bottle of the barrel proof Elijah Craig, along with many bottles of Bib and Tucker at one of my LCBO's. They were in a glass case with no prices. To me, that means walk away.....
The barrel proof goes for ~$145 at the LCBO. But keep an eye out, for some reason they have been marking some pretty good stuff down by $20-30.00 a bottle. I'd pay the list price as a one off, but the everyday juice is plenty nice. going to be reviewing the Eagle Rare 10 this weekend.
The LCBO can catch you off guard I've found recently. Don't always go by what the website tells you either. The closest LCBO to me in Kitchener has 6 bottles of Bib and Tucker Bourbon, but on the website it's not even listed. Certain stores I've also found to put brands on clearance, and other stores still have them set at the regular price.
BTW Orville, big shipment of Blanton's special reserve has hit LCBO. Just a heads up.

Smooth but with a kick.
I'll try it, but I just cracked my bottle of Eagle Rare 10, and I think I am in love with it.
I will give this little fella a taste over the weekend.

While I rarely indulge in the world of 'hard stuff' I called my local (out of state) liquor store and they have FOUR Bottles (5ths)of the above mentioned Knob Creek so I'll be heading over tomorrow to pick up a bottle or so--just in case a good friend from TN should happen by. :w
Roy...go with the "or so."
I have a good friend that owns two large liquor stores.
He told me that in order to get any, he has to buy a full barrel.
I had to go elsewhere to find mine.
Pete <:-}
Well tomorrow I'll find out if we are talking 'Apples and Oranges'. When I called the liquor store I asked if they carried 'Knob Creek 120 proof single barrel' and she said yes. So I asked if there was more than one bottle as I couldn't get over until tomorrow and she then told me that they had 4 of them and they were 5th sized bottles.
Is This what I should be looking for? As I have said I rarely ever partake of the harder stuff. My dad's choice of poison was Seagram 7 and the man who was like a second father to me's choice was McNaughtons. When I was partaking it was usually Black Velvet. So 'IF' this is the real deal it should be quite an eye opener. :w

That's the stuff.
If you decide to try it, you'll be amazed at how good it tastes, and how smooth it is for 120 proof.

Well since it seems that Freddy's sister wouldn't be open to giving me a discount on the Knob Creek 120 Single Barrel I picked a bottle up today locally.
Here's a little background on the situation of purchasing Spirits here in WA State. We had State Liquor Stores and the price posted included all taxes. Well with the backing of the big chain grocery stores a few years ago the sale was transferred from State run stores to Grocery Stores. There was a provision that the store had to have a certain amount of sales to be able to sell spirits. This eliminated stores like 7Eleven and other small time operations.
Oh Boy! Did the public think this was a Great Deal! They were going to be able to buy spirits really cheaply! However they didn't read the small print in the bill---there was a 20% Hard Liquor Tax! PLUS the State Sales Tax!
The prices listed were just like buying say Paper Towels, they don't show the TOTAL PRICE just the price before all of the taxes!
So when people went to purchase their spirits, they got a real eye opener!!! I can't tell you how many times I got my ass reamed and all because the person didn't understand what they had voted for!
While Tc has been here and understands the logistics of the area I drove down to Milton Freewater OR to shoot some pool with my buddy Ski and while I was there I swung by the Oregon State Liquor Store to make my purchase. In OR they don't have any sales tax and the price on the shelf is what you pay!
I had found the Knob Hill 100 Single Barrel locally and it was $35 before taxes. The Knob Hill 120 Single Barrel was $52 in OR.
I used the Knob Hill website and Milton Freewater was the closest outlet for the 120. I don't know if I could have tried to special order it from one of the Washington stores or not.
Anyway I literally have a bottle of the Knob Hill 120 Single Barrel in hand.

Same stuff I think.... Just a different label. I'm surprised we would have this up here. You guys think I should grab a bottle???? :p
Knob Creek Single Barrel | LCBO
Watching the Leafs game and sipping on some Glen Garioch Founders Reserve. It's a young Scotch, but man is it good, and the price is right at only $60 Canadian.

Think I might have to grab one as well. Shows 1 in stock at my local lcbo.

We can compare notes gents!
The Irish stuff has gotten my interest here lately, what are your recommendations?
Writers tears is a tasty pot still whiskey from Ireland with an interesting flavour profile. Well worth a try if you come across a bottle.
Bush mill is another Irish staple worth sampling.
Cheers.
Maybe the label is different for across the border, so I,m not sure. But it does say single barrell reserve and its 120 proof. As for an Irish the offering. Not sure of the spelling but had some at my brothers couple of weeks ago. Tullamore Dew 10 year single malt, I liked it so much I,m going to pick up the 12 year soon. Not bad priced either, cause if my brother paid for it it's cheap. But very good. Tc
As I've said, I seldom indulge in the harder spirits but I have taken a few sips of this Knob Creek 120 Single Barrel and I do find it quite mild tasting (for whiskey).
It's much smoother to the tongue and throat than anything else that I've experienced but as I've said, my tasting has been restricted to the much lower priced whiskeys.
For someone wanting to enter what I would call 'Sipping Whiskey' I'd highly recommend this Knob Hill.
I'm sure that the whiskeys that I grew up on (McNaughton's, Segrams7, Black Velvet and Wild Turkey would do for mixed drinks and are much less expensive.
Now on a Canadian Note: My grandfather Davis's sister was married to a native Canadian. My dad used to talk how his uncle would drive to Canada to visit and when he returned home he'd bring cases upon cases of Canadian Whiskey's back. BUT before he'd get to the border he'd open Every Bottle. Dad said it was something to do with customs and that the open bottles couldn't be resold.
I'm quite sure that those days are long gone!
Picked up some of the Knob Creek 120 today . . . review soon.
You will like it!
Sampled some of Scott,s home distilled spirit. It was very similar to makers mark 46. A good sipping whiskey

Tried the Knob Creek. Not bad, but for really high test Bourbon, I think I prefer the Wild Turkey Rare Breed.
Just finished my Makers Mark.
