Probably not. I suspect they're going as frugal as they can.

I'd be content with pictures and stories.

I treat this as a general spirits thread now tbh...

Surprisingly, it's a pretty dry rum. It's sweet but like fruit sugar sweet rather that honey, dessert sweet.

Lots of banana flavours over dried fruits and gentle spice.

    Really very good.

I'm just catching up after a week or so away from this thread. Ardbeg 10 puts Laphroaig 10 to shame as far as peat smoke is concerned IMO.

    Tonight: Highland Park 10

    Default Scotch/whiskey of the day

Do you mean 12 year old?

If not, who bottles a 10 year old version and how does it compare?

Also, you're not doing your whisky any favours in a glass of that shape. If you don't have or can't get a proper whisky glass, at least use a wine glass or something that narrows at the rim rather than flares out.

Sounds awesome. I'm going to england next week to see a friend and he said he's going to buy be a decent bottle of rum. We both usually drink whisky, but are starting to branch out a bit. Mezcal's worth a look if you can find it.

Got a recommendation or general price point for a mezcal?

Don't want to spend loads but something a bit better than a basic cheapo bottle.

I've only tried one to be honest, but it's nice. Atenco mezcal espadin joven. Cost about £65, but that's the Norway price and the bottle's hand blown which probably adds a few quid. I'll try to get a picture up, it's a nice looking bottle. it looks like master of malt have a pretty big selection and I think Ralfy's recommended del maguey. Price seems to vary quite a lot, from around £40 to upwards of £160.

Good choice. Ardbeg 10 is one of my all time favorites. If I live the rest of my days always having a bottle of it to draw from when I'm inclined, such a notion just seems right.
