Picked up a bottle of Rowen's Creek. Local liquor store no longer shelves Blanton's. Manager says it's being retained for restaurant and bar sales only.

Okay boys and girls, you have $150.00 to spend at the LCBO on a bottle of Whisky (not Scotch). What are you buying and why? Please exclude any of the Wiser's series that have been discussed lately.

A little Fuji-sanroku

I have heard good things about Japanese whisky, and I know the bottle on the right is in the LCBO. Are the others and, if so, which would you recommend?

The Japanese whisky is very good. Of these, I recommend the Fuji-sanroku by Kirin, if you can find it outside of Japan. Of those readily available, I highly recommend the Yamazaki or the Hibiki. The Nikka Coffey Grain is an interesting corn-based single grain whisky, but some find it too sweet...
