I'm still giving the scotch a break, though I had to go visit the scotch aisle while I was at the ABC store just a few minutes ago. My awesome neighbor brought me a generous pour of Knob Creek SBR one recent evening after I returned from a long hike/fishing trip in the mountains (he's the same guy I recently got into straights). So to return the favor, I brought home this:
Don't you love the way the sun just lights it up? Almost makes it look wholesome.

If the heat and humidity will abate somewhat, I may enjoy a sip or two out on my deck later and watch the hummingbirds come in for their twilight nightcap. Cheers! Aaron

I enjoy Kentucky Bourbon, probably a bit more than Scotch these days. But I rarely embibe any longer. When I do, it's always Wild Turkey in Bourbon and Glenmorangie in Scotch. As I posted earlier, I have taken the Bourbon Trail tour in Kentucky, and Wild Turkey was my favorite tour, and my favorte taste. And their Master Distiller is the best, and wonderful to talk to.

But Knob Creek is a good drink. It is a very unique taste, that's for sure.

    Enjoy.

Well, the neighbor and I baptized the Knob Creek out on the deck, and spiced it up with just a little of what my mountain relatives call "cherry bounce" (a jar full of fresh cherries topped off by white lightning and left to marinate for a few weeks (I know a guy)-delicious.

Anyway, we came into my dining room after (we were fine, really!) and he got his 1st honing lesson (no power tools were involved-I'm not THAT stupid!!!). He asked a lot of questions and seemed genuinely fascinated by the process. I think I've ruined him-mmmmuuaahahahaha.

that is my favorite drink , and Scout might I suggest if your going to keep getting the single barrel reserve an ice cube is the way to go for the first drink,, that 120 proof is a little hot,, now every time I bring it to the meets,, ole Ron and Charlie seem to like it a bunch! Tc

I'm with you on the ice-actually a few cubes and just take baby sips while it dilutes and sweetens up a bit. I'm not man enough to chug 120 proof neat!

This past weekend I was at a great place in Toronto for a wedding, thhe old mill in Toronto. The morning after the wedding we had a great brunch, but the whole time I sat at my table I was distracted by the smell of the huge burnt out fireplace behind me. Instantly all that came to my head was Ardbeg 10.

So tonight It's Game of thrones (rewatching season 6 in preperation for Sunday) and a dram of Ardbeg 10.
Burls, Girls, and all things that Swirl....
